The 1950's in America was a change. New products changed the way people lived their everyday lives. New appliances, such as electric ranges and frost-free refrigerators, saved working time. New electronic devices, such as color televisions and transistor radios, made for fun entertainment. People's eating habits changed too. You simply pulled a frozen TV dinner from your frost-free refrigerator, heated it up, and ate it while you watched your favorite show on your new color TV.
Recent technology has made it possible for people to get information and entertainment more quickly and easily. One thing is the Internet; you have e-mail, and also, instant messaging, or chats. You could also go to a web site about anything you need to know about, whether it's celebrities or local bookstores. You can get your information fast and easily. Cellular phones are sometimes better to use when calling long distance. The bill is always the same amount every time, so when you call long distance it wouldn't make any difference. But, if you called long distance from your house phone, it would cost extra.
In the future, people might react to technology strangely. Everyone might be lazy, and have machinery do the work for them. They might not work, but instead send a robot to work for them. Our government might even be made of robots! People might be careless with technological machinery, and get shocked. They might rely too much on technology and be harmed. Kids may not even go to school! They could have some kind of computer chip programmed into their head, and know anything and everything they're supposed to!
