The company that we chose as a model for our project is a company called Micon Telecom. Micon Telecom is a small, female owned telecommunications firm that offers complete technology solutions for all types of businesses. Micon is conveniently located in Fremont, CA, but conducts business statewide. Micon has been operating for over 12 years, opening in 1989, before the big telecommunications boom of the 1990's.
             Micon started out as an idea from Owner and President, Evangelina Calderon. Originally Evangelina (Vangie) worked for Pacific Bell as a project manager, so she had previous experience in the telecommunications industry. Vangie was very aware of the rising demand for telecommunications in business. So she decided to leave Pacific Bell, and with the help of her husband Trinidad Calderon, started her own telecommunications consulting firm. Micon has been running strong ever since.
             Micon Telecom has many aspects to its business. Micon's #1 objective is to provide complete technology solutions for all business needs. Micon provides services for all businesses from small, home-based business to large scale corporations. Micon has 5 types of services to offer its clientele. Micon's services include Network/Hardware services, Communication Systems, Wireless, Graphic Design, and Relocation services. Each of these services covers all aspects of business needs.
             The main focus of Micon is its Networking/ Hardware services. Everything from large networks to PC hardware is covered. Micon provides service for all types of network and hardware needs. Micon provides network planning and implementation, ISP configuration, software integration/migration, wireless network configurations, e-mail and security systems, and the hardware it takes to implement it.
