Violence is defined as physical force exerted for the purpose of violating, damaging, or abusing. In the world of today, numerous violent incidents happen everyday. However, what troubles the community the most, is the increasing numbers in specifically school violence. Many shootings and abuses that have taken place in schools, have been brought to the attention of administration, and the community. School violence should be avoided because it has become a safety concern for parents and their children.
             Violent actions and incidents that happen at school, such as children bringing weapons to school and injuring the student body, or just bullying students around and beating them up, need to be stopped. It is definitely becoming a threat to parents with young or teenage students who send their children to school for an education, believing that they are in a safe environment. However, school isn't exactly safe anymore, with children around with lack of respect for others, and no sensitivity to their pain. This describes the students exactly who were the cause of the shooting at Columbine High School. That incident really shook everyone up because children are underestimated. Many times it is thought that they would never be capable of such things, especially because they cannot have weapons such as guns in their possession. Because of this, children have been able to get away with a lot. However, everyone is more aware of the possibilities and have tried to take action to ensure the safety of students.
             There are many actions that the administration can accommodate to avoid school violence. Shootings, and physical abuses need to be stopped to ensure the children's safety when they are at an educational institution. School violence needs to come to an end, because if it is not stopped now, no one knows what the consequences can be, or how many lives can be taken away or tormented.
