President Truman chose to put many years of research and planning to use when he decided to drop the bomb to end the war. Our country was at war and our congress had spent two billion dollars on the project. If we did not use this two billion dollars to our advantage, the money would have gone completely to waste. Another reason he decided to use such a destructive weapon was to end World War II quickly and without the loss of many of our own citizens.
