1) My favourite character is Julie she is more down to earth a real than the other characters.
2) I would have to say that Julie is the character that changes the most out of all of the other characters. At first she is non compliant and sullen but as the play progresses she really comes out of her shell and in the end builds up enough courage to sing in front of the audience.
3) I believe Lucy and Nick are the character of whom my opinion has changed to the largest degree. At first they seem like secondary characters who help Lewis as friends but during the play they become true examples of the infidelity and emotional corruption in which the play is premised.
4) I think this play's message would be that of commitment and hope in everyday life. Commitment in the play is expressed in the Lewis and the casts struggle to let the play go ahead and the lack of commitment in the relationships in and out of the play. Hope was the theme expressed in the people in the play.
Roy: thanks jerry but I don't need your approval
Roy: now if you would excuse me my fans await
Lewis: (is pushed aside as Roy leaves)
Lewis: (spinning around) Julie. Um... no you are the one who is great., that voice it makes my heart go pitter patter
Julie: oh. That's great. Look Lewis I love you very much but I'm gay
Lewis: (taking Julie by the hand and taking her out of the theatre)
Lewis: (startled he spins around to see Doug standing covered in blood) Doug, Wha... what have you done?
Doug: what this? Oh, that's just blood I killed some people.
Doug : anyway I think you will find that exit is blocked
Lewis: (overly calm) Doug, calm down your not your self.
