Religion in Lord of the Flies

The religious symbolism in Lord of the Flies, is very hard to miss. Now, the most obvious one of course is Simon. Others would include, Ralph, Jack, Rodger, Piggy, and salvation. Now there are many different ways to compare these people, this is just how I see it.
First, Simon is obviously compared to a Christ figure. He isn't only the Christ figure, but he is the possible savior for the boys on the island. Simon is a special person, he is very different from the others. For example when we see him the only one helping thelittluns? to gather fruits that they were unable to reach,Simon found for them the fruit they could not reach, pulled off the choicest from up in the foliage, passed them back down to the endless, outstretched hands? For example you could compare selfishness to Jack, and a slant toward evil and cruelty to Rodger.
After Ralph we move onto Jack. I would say that he is the physical man. He is very prideful, and he seems to have emotions of anger and savagery. At first, he is the leader of his group, who become hunters as the book goes on. Finally, his savage personality and ability to tell people what they want to hear all...
