. Sweden appears to rely very heavily on state imposed cultural guidelines to help govern the people. Most of the immigrants miss all this cultural training and are thusly not accustomed to the minor details that greatly effect the successful governing of the nation. Second, the immigrants increase the labor pool, which could lead to a possible labor surplus and higher rate of unemployment among Swedish citizens. Increasing the labor pool is not always a problem, but in certain economic times it can pose as one. Furthermore, it is necessary to look at the welfare state. If these services are to apply to the immigrants as well as the natural-born Swedes then it puts an additional burden on the welfare state. Naturally, most immigrants are going to want many of the services that the welfare state provides, especially if they are attempting to function as a normal citizen in the labor market. Immigrants will want health care, day care, unemployment, and all the other services that are available to Swedish citizens. When the general statistics of immigrant labor are examined, it is evident that immigrants make considerably less money than the average Swede and have a much higher unemployment rate. This means that the immigrants come to expect the same benefits as any other Swedish citizen, but as a whole the immigrants actually contribute far less to the welfare state than the general public. When these facts are examined it is easy to see that immigration is more of a problem in the welfare state than say, that of the United States; where it is possible to exploit cheap labor.
             As the State continually changes to adapt for the purposes of immigration it is important to ask if the state is being weakened by these changes.
