             Some of the most popular censorship debates have dealt with the issue of sex education in school, in the 1960's, and feminists groups attempting to ban pornography, such as Playboy and Hustler, in the 1980's.
             The producers of motion pictures adopted self-regulatory code of morals in the 1920's, which was replaced after 1966 by a voluntary rating system under the supervision of the Motion Picture Producers Association and has acted as a form of censorship.
             Since 1934, radio and television have operated under licenses granted by the Federal Communications Commission, which is not allowed to exercise censorship. In 1978 in the Pacifica v. FCC, a radio station aired "George Carlin's 7 Dirty Words" and a man, who had his son in the ca,r called and complained. The FCC took action and filed suit against the company in charge of the radio station, Pacifica. The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in favor of the FCC, declaring that offensive and harmful material entered the privacy of people's home with this broadcast.
