Seat Belt Advantages

Seat belts are by far the most important safety feature of your car. No matter what speed you are going, or how far you will be traveling it is extremely important to always have your seat belt on. If you are wearing a seat belt at the time of a crash, your risk of being killed is reduced by about 50 percent.
Seat belts protect the driver against injury in a collision. They lessen the chance that you or your passengers will be thrown against the dashboard, through the windshield, or out a door that has sprung open in a crash. In addition, seat belts help keep you behind the wheel and in control of the car if you have to swerve, brake abruptly, or are struck by another vehicle.
More and more states are now requiring everybody to wear a seat belt while the car is in motion. This is because of the seriousness that is involved. Many people truly believe that wearing a seat belt can kill you, while you would live if not wearing one. This is not true at all. A seat belt will prevent you from colliding with something inside the car, and also keep you from being thrown from the car, sometimes at distances that can equal up to 150 feet.
Some people also come back saying that seat belts can injure you at high speeds. You should always think, what would be better – to break a collarbone, or to die?
Seatbelts do no keep you immune from injury, although they do seriously lessen the risk of sever and fatal injuries in a car accident at high speeds.
