             Have you ever come across a TV program which shows 13 year old girls who look like they're at least 20? Most young girls these days try so hard to appear older and more "sophisticated." For instance, some of the students in my sister's fifth grade class are much taller than I am and will ever be, as well as looking much older than I do. These are the types of girls who are the very cause of the so-called "whore wars"-students who continue to "grow up" rapidly, although they have no need to do so. They are the tweens, or children between middle childhood and adolescence, who have made a statement by appearing and acting at least 3 or 4 years older than their actual age.
             Because of the harmful effects of today's children growing up too quickly, we must first examine what exactly the "whore wars" are and study current examples. Then we will look at what has caused these problems and how they affect our society. Finally, we will explore what needs to be done.
             The "whore wars" consist of constant battles between parents and the society in which we live, which sets standards that accept girls who dress immodestly, wear loads of makeup, and focus primarily on their appearance as the main source of their confidence.
