r friends tell us about it, but Paul got it directly from the Lord Jesus Christ Himself and no one else.
             In Galatians 1:12 there is an interesting comparison with Gal. 1:1. In verse 1 he introduced himself as "Paul, an apostle, not of men, neither by man." In verse 12 he says of his message, "I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ." It is evident that his message did not originate with man, but again, as verse 1 says, God did not use men to teach it to him. He received his message on his way to Damascus while he was "Breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord" (Acts 9:1). It was then that the Lord revealed Himself to Paul and committed to him this wonderful message of grace. Isn't it important then that he put so much emphasis upon this?
