Unfair Judgements

             Everyone has their share of being judged unfairly and many do their share of judging others unfairly. It's human nature to compare and contrast others to yourself or "your group". Sometimes, though, it can get out of hand and people are down right mean and hurtful. It's not just 'certain' people who judge others, everyone does, from children to adults.
             People are judged unfairly because of where they came from, what they do for a living, how much money they make, what color or sex they are, what clothes they wear or cars they drive, right down to how they spend their free time. For me, it was none of these. When I was in high school many people, including teachers, judged me for people I hung out with.
             I had many different 'groups' of friends in high school, and one group happened to like to party a lot. Because I hung out with these people I would get labeled as a "druggie" and a "bad influence". People that didn't know me would think these things, along with others who were supposed to be my friends. Just because I hung out a few times with people who were into that, didn't mean I was. Everyone looked at me as a bad person.
             One day, my senior year at school, I had a friend come up to me in the hallway and tell me that in the class she just had the teacher had used me for an example. She used me as an example of someone who needed help and as someone not to hang out with. When I heard this my mouth dropped. I never said anything to that teacher or to any other teacher, but I realized how critical people were.
             In situations like these you don't know who your friends are or who you can talk to. I would get so irritated when I heard what people were saying and I wouldn't know what to do.
