e went on. When the park closed the same ride still occupied the same spot. The second ride and probably the ride with the most history today was the Carousel. It was built in 1906 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. It came equipped with 70 hand carved horses and is known as one of the largest and most beautiful carousels ever built. Today, the horses are valued at $2500.00 each. One can see the horses on the carousel and ride them at Six Flags Great America. The last ride was The Chutes, or as its' logo was adapted "Shoot the Chutes." The Chutes were immensely popular second only to one other ride that was later to come in the park. On a busy day you could wait up to 2 hours with out being granted any re-rides. A re-ride would let you hop back on and ride again with out waiting in line for five cents.
