izes it for what it is. They call it a hundred different names. They scream out evil. They call it Satan. They blame their own insecurities and actions on the devil himself, and then they ask God for guidance. It is a formula for tragedy, and that is exactly what happens.
             Hester is a strong headed woman. She presents herself with a kind of my way or no way attitude. She was an independent woman waiting on her husband to meet her in the new world. Something like this had never been seen in the virgin community. She came into their home with an understanding of the world. An understanding that most of them could never grasp. She wore bright clothes with lace and celebrated her independence openly. These were her mistakes, but in the same way her destiny. She clashed against the community without even knowing she was doing it. She represented the fear that all these people shared. This fear grew every time anyone saw her. Here was a woman who could disrupt everything that they thought necessary. Here was the devil's work, but Hester was not evil. She was unique. She was a rose in a weed garden
