the United States in France on July 8th 1884. The statue finally arrived in the United States in 1885, where it was unloaded on Bedloe's Island (Perea 45).
             Shipped from France the Statue was reassembled on Bedloe's Island where it consisted of 200 hundred tons of copper and iron. This statue also became and still is the world's tallest freestanding statue (Allen 17). It should also be mentioned that America had a significant part in the designing of this structure.
