A definition of home has no correct answer. Each individual's meaning is different. I associate home with feelings of comfort, security, and love. This is derived from my wonderful family, protection I feel at home, and love that is always present no matter how bad things seem. Webster's Dictionary defines home as "a place where we live, a place of residence." However, this is a better definition for a house, while home is what's on the inside. If you don't have family, you don't have home. Feelings of fear, and troublesome problems are mainly dealt with in home. I feel protected from unknown things in the world because home is familiar to me.
             Certain elements of home make up what it is to me. These include the importance of family, friends, and peers. Of course, there are trivial items too including my room, my big bed, and my family's beautiful home entertainment center. Waking up everyday in the same place for years also is a piece of my definition of home. I became comfortable with my surroundings, and familiar with every part of my home. Daily routines also create my sense of home. Waking up, showering, eating while watching television in the family room, and going to school everyday at 8:00am. These elements are all pieces of a puzzle that when put together equal my home. Its not just feeling comfortable and loved that makes home. In order to feel these emotions they must derive from some origin. The love I feel in my home comes from supporting family. I'm comfortable with my environment at home because of everyday routines I've done for years. All the tiny little stuff is also very important in our homes. In being honest, material possessions do matter to an extent. Without cool items like my theatre system, DVD player, and Playstation2, I wouldn't feel quite as comfortable at home.
