Palm Programming: GPS receiver

r has a wizard that is available for use with Palm OS. After obtaining this and a SDK from Palm, the programmer must learn the structure of a project.
Any project that is being developed requires a minimum of five files to be included. First, the appropriate function library for the OS version being used must be included. This runtime library contains the functions that will be called to perform the most basic actions of the application. Second is a resource file. The resource file is a file that is built in the Constructor program that is packaged with CodeWarrior. This functions as a visual editor of exactly what the user interface (UI) will look like when the program is completed. Each object that will be displayed on the screen must be pulled from a catalog of objects available in the Constructor. This includes everything from the main form to any error messages, alerts, drop down menus, etc. that will need to appear on screen. Each object that is created has a list of assets that can be modified as well as a unique object identifier and ID number. These assets include the location, visible text, and associations with other objects. For example, a drop down menu item would need to be associated with the drop down menu button for it to work properly. An example view of a Constructor object is shown in Figure 1.
The third object is a resource header file. CodeWarrior generates this file when the resource file is constructed. Because it is regenerated every time the program is recompiled, it is a read-only file and cannot be modified directly. This file contains the definitions of all of the resources (organized by type) and their object ID numbers. When programming the source file, the resource identifiers can be used rather than their object ID numbers so the program is easier to follow. The fourth file is another header file which is not automatically generated but must contain the function prototypes for an...
