             Women have battled society repeatedly since the start of human existence. They have been labelled as the "Inferior Gender", born to clean, to rear children, and to serve dinner to their weary husbands back from a hard day's work. Whether that work be a day's hunting in the hills, or a day in the office, it still rings true to what it was like for women in the past. And in some cases it still is like that.
             Women in Afghanistan suffer tremendously from the ignorance of men. Women must cover themselves completely from head to toe in clothing. Even showing an inch of bare skin is seen as a serious offence, and sometimes leads to undeserved punishment. One woman, who attempted to cross the border of Afghanistan into a neighbouring country, with a man who was not her husband, got killed for it.
             The majority of men in Afghanistan just don't seem to understand that women too are people; people who deserve respect and the right to lead a happy life, in the way they choose. But then again, have men ever understood women anyway?
             Even in countries such as our own men are still confused by women. Women are becoming their equals. More women are now their respected work colleagues, (rather than their "respected" house wives,) and are climbing up the ranks in society. And whether men admit it or not, in some cases it is eating away at their sense of power, and also importantly, their masculinity.
             Maybe that's why men are more interested nowadays in looking good. We can't watch TV today without noticing "Just for Men" Hair dye, or Nivea after-shave balm. And what else is more important? Men's fashion of course.
