Jensen disputes the idea, in the sense that, the people are hurting so bad that everyone will jump on the patriotic band wagon. No one stops to question the morality of the attacks, nor do the leaders stop to think about the consequences military action has on the world. The question Jensen asks is, do we abandon our right to think critically and rationally in order to support a word that is "perhaps the single most morally and intellectually bankrupt concept in human history."? This definition of patriotism holds a blinding power over America, and is used solely for military support by the government.
