Even tough I love dressing nicely and by now I'm used to dress codes; sometimes it's kind of boring and annoying to follow those kinds of rules. When I was a child, I always wore what my Mother or Lucy, my nanny picked for me; then catholic school came by and I remember that even when we were in elementary they made us wear full suits; after my graduation I joined the navy for two years... so there you go that's two more years of crisps and impeccable uniforms and suits. Now I'm in my mid 20's and I still go to the office wearing very nice suits even on Dress Down Fridays, it's just a matter of choice.
             But sometimes it makes me wonder if they should get rid of it, once in a while you see people that look that they came to work the same ways as they got out of bed. I'm a very strong believer of consistency, so that's one of the major reasons of not believing in the new trends of dressing up/down.
             The whole idea of wearing a suit four days in a row and then on Friday you are allowed to wear casual clothes "to stimulate your productivity" does not convince me at all. I think employees take advantage of it a start going to work dressed like slobs.
             I think there are some environments where a dress-code is still necessary, but that's primarily in industries where the customers have to deal with the company's representatives face to face. But when you're stuck in an office, sitting in front of a keyboard and computer, or dealing with customers over the phone, then quite simply what is the point of being in a shirt and tie?
             I've worked in some of the most laid-back offices known to man, with no dress code, and yet the work still got done, and in fact the people were happier, more relaxed, less stressed, and generally worked better.
             The theory that if you dress in shirt and tie then your mind will be in "work mode", and you'll be more efficient. I've never understood that theory &ndas...
