Cell Phones

It is common in this day in age for everyone to have a cell phone. Most likely everyone in this room has one. People use cell phones everyday but do they really know how they operate. What causes a cell phone to work so easily and efficiently? Hopefully this speech can clear things up about the cell phone.
There are many different choices when someone wants to purchase a cell phone. The main choice would be what brand to get. That choice would come under the personal opinion bracket. It would come from what size, style, and weight you like. Some people also like to know what different color faceplates you can put on the phone.
To be honest, all of those choices only fit in the personal opinion bracket. Every cell phone is going to look different on the outside but operate identical on the inside. Depending on the technology used on the cell phone depends on which frequency the phone will transmit and receive on. There are three basic technologies in America. They are TDMA, CDMA, and GSM. GSM is the best because it is a Global technology. It is not yet available in some areas of the Unites States though.
Each of the three technologies uses frequency ranges for the cell phone to use. TDMA uses 800 MHz as a primary range. CDMA uses 800 MHz and 1900 MHz simultaneously as a range for good reception. GSM uses 1900 MHz primarily and 800 MHz as a secondary.
Cellular phones are becoming more advanced everyday. In the next couple of years cell phones might be used as we use computers today. A select group of cell phones today can already do things we use a computer for. I hope we stay up with technology left behind.
