In this paper I will argue the point of whether homosexuality is ethically defensible. In this paper it will be that from my point of view homosexuality is not ethically defensible. If things are ethical in our world it is because our religion tells us so. Now I will state the viewpoints of the major world religions and the proof homosexuality is not ethically defensible.
             First is American Christian society. Most Christians do not seem to want to embrace the gay community, and do not even seem to be moving towards a more tolerant atmosphere. The church has a non - acceptance of homosexuals from church doctrine supported by the bible. The bible supports homosexuality as an abomination. "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman: it is an abomination." 1 "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination." 2 In the eyes of the church gayness is a choice, Therefore, an act against God and the churches ethical viewpoint.
             Second the Jewish viewpoint is very close to the Christian view. From the time Judaism was created until now, sex between two men was sinful and an abomination. Sex between women is less opposed because it is more the act of anal sex Jewish viewpoint finds unethical. The conservative Jewish community finds homosexuality most unethical. The committees of Jewish Law and Standards have made statements regarding homosexual Jews. "We will not perform commitment ceremonies for gays and lesbians." 3 "We will not knowingly admit avowed homosexuals to our rabbinical and cantorial schools." 4 The Jewish community has also sighted the Torah as condemning homosexuality helping to refine there view point it is unethical. "The Torah also forbids
             sexual relations between two men with additional prohibitions in the case one's father or father's brother." 5
             Third is the World of Islam. Homosexuality is strictly prohibited in Islam. ...
