They need to feel that they are the only ones who have control over their lives. The anorexia can become very extreme in these cases because the anorexic does not know how to say enough.              What are the symptoms of anorexia? Anorexia has many different symptoms in many different cases. There are a few general signs to look for: loss of significant amount of weight, continuing to diet although very thin, feeling fat, hair loss, cold hands and feet, fainting spells, exercising compulsively, lying about food, depression, anxiety, weakness, exhaustion, constipation, growth of body hair everywhere on body, dry, brittle skin and shortness of breathe.
