Good or bad, we struggle with it everyday, but sometimes the two get out of hand. In the book The Butterfly Revolution by William Butler the kids are shown as good and evil. The author talks about how kids are good, and how they are evil.
             Many good things are done in The Butterfly Revolution. "If we are going to have a revolution we should at least put some ideals into it."(120) This shows that Winston is trying to make the people fight for something good in the revolution. He is also trying to fight for something besides fun. One of the ideals Winston is trying to fight for is freedom of religion. "Manuel Rivas came back late this afternoon... and he had a whole army of police men with him."(212) This is probably the best thing done in the book. It shows that kids have the ability to do good things. Manuel was tired of the revolution, so he put an end to it by going to the police.
             However, there are bad things happening, also. "John Mason is dead, Don shot him." (163) This shows that kids have the power to do something as bad as murder another human being. We are not innocent, but have the power to commit crimes that adults do. "He raped me... he took me into the woods and raped me."(149) This shows that kids can rape people, and that they can get raped as well. Teenagers think they are having fun, but in reality they are committing a crime.
             Kids are good with the potential of evil. Many good things are being done in the Butterfly Revolution. However there are more bad actions taking place. Even though people think that kids are evil, we have the potential to be good.
