Soloing is an extension of bouldering. The line between bouldering and soloing is that once you would no longer jump off the climb, you are soloing and are committed on reaching the top. Soloing is the freest form of climbing in the sense that you have only you up there with the birds and the breeze. Soloing is also the most dangerous form of climbing because there is no protection to catch you when you fall. If a climber were to fall while soloing they would most likely die. I have never soloed before and have no desire to, either.
