Had random people only questioned the teachings of Jesus is a minuet conflict. The real dilemma arises when the ones that are questioning Jesus' teachings are his own disciples. Ones that have been with him and believed in everything related to him from the beginning. As time passed various groups of people came to engage in Jesus' ministry of the words of God. Once the Pharisees noticed the kind of people participating in the crowd they showed strong rebuttal towards the situation by stating, "This fellow...welcomes sinners and eats with them."(Luke 15:2) For the Pharisees, it was absurd how a son of God and of such holy status can be associating with them. In order for the people to understand Jesus, he told them the parable of the prodigal boy. This parable is split into two separate parts. The first part of the parable is focused on the younger, rebellious son, who represents the "sinners" and the tax-collectors. The second part of the parable focuses on the way the older brother reacts with jealousy when he comes home from working on the farm, to find a celebration. This represents the Pharisees reaction of Jesus being with "sinners". In this parable, Jesus shows that even though these people performed sins in their past that there is still "...joy among the angels of God..." (Luke 15:9) when they repent. In this parable, the father takes the role of God from his response to the situation. Since, the father had an unbreakable love for his child, even though his son had betrayed him, he had it in his heart to forgive his son. This exemplifies that God loves all of his people even if they have done wrong, as long as they turn to him with sincerity and repent.
