It is difficult to compare "Gilgamesh" with any creation myth, but the one that comes closest to it would be "Genesis." It is almost seems as if the stories were cut away from each other. Both have very many similarities.
The most blatant similarity is the major flood in both stories. Each flood is global and causes the whole world to be drowned. Yet, there are differences to the floods in the stories. In "Genesis" the flood was caused by Man's wickedness. In "Gilgamesh" the flood was caused by Man's sins. "Gilgamesh's" flood was fairly short when compared to "Genesis's" being that one was only six days and nights and the other being forty.
The sender of the flood in "Genesis" was Yahweh which is only one person. In "Gilgamesh" the sender of the flood was an assembly of "gods." Although a minor difference is it still showing, the different faiths of the world as in Genesis, where the monotheistic religion has god directly result the flood. In the polytheistic faith in Gilgamesh the flood was caused by many gods. Both floods were caused by heavy rain, but the flood in Genesis was also caused by ground water overflowing.

In "Gilgamesh," Utnapishtim is told to build a boat as well and load it with animals. (Farnsworth) Noah's message was sent directly from god and Utnapishtim's message is given to him in a dream. (Farnsworth) The boats in both of the myths are very large with Noah's being three stories and Utnapishtim's being six stories. (Farnsworth) Noah was only allowed to bring family members along in his ark while Utnapishtim allowed to have family and some other human passengers. The odd thing about Utnapishtim's boat i
