In today's society, there are many reasons to get a college degree. It is a known fact that the majority of successful people in America are the one's with college education's. The main factors that persuaded me to pursue a college degree were money, pressure from my parents, pressure from myself, and from my friends.
             I've grown up with a dream of becoming rich and successful. A college degree would be a stepping stone to lift me up into the lifestyle of my choice. A degree would help me get a great job that would pay very well. My options for a good career would widen tremendously. I could find a job that might be less stressful and strenuous on me. My vision of being wealthy when I'm older is a lot brighter with the help of a furthered education.
             Ever since I was a young boy, my parents instilled upon me the importance of a college education. They started a pre-paid program for me when I was little so that I would have my education paid for by the time I was ready for college. My older brother never attended college and is now a police officer making $35,000 a year. He now has a wife and three kids and every time he complains about money, my parents look at me and ask me if that's the kind of life I want. They are always on my case about my grades and are trying to push me, so that I understand the importance of a college degree. Part of the reason I want my degree is to make them proud of me.
             I, myself, put a lot of strain on me to get my degree. I don't want to be an average guy with an average life. I want to be better than that. I want to provide for my future family. I want to give them anything they want. I want to prove to myself that I can do anything I put my mind to. I don't want to let myself down and settle for something less than my potential. I realize myself that in order for me to get the future I want; it starts with a good education.
