Describing the way our brains handle problems compared to other species is an important topic that helps us understand our survival. The things that made us superior to our primitive ancestors are the ability to communicate and solve problems.
The way that ideas and messages are passed from one person to another is one of the points brought up by Daniel C. Dennett. In his theories about communication he believes that the more complex the language is the better it is. I believe that his idea is correct because its supported by facts like the human language and how detailed the language can get. When thinking about something as simple as telling someone to go to the store to get some milk for example. The primitive way of communicating this would be get milk from store but as our ways of communication became more complex we could communicate to that person so much more information. We could say things like: what store to go to, what kind of milk, ect. Things like language make the human brain superior to those of animals.
The human brain works in a unique way in that it can learn things that our ancestors haven't done. We could have a human performing the same task that an animal is doing with similar outcomes but what separates us from them is what goes through our brains to get there. Daniel describes need to know and commando team design to describe what process our brains and the brains of animals work. The need to know has enough information about doing a task as is needed but the commando team design gathers as much information about the task and uses that to do the task and improve the process. This way of thinking makes each generation better through communication. If one generation didn't pass down the knowledge that they gained in their life then history can continue to repeat itself. The mistakes that one person made can be avoided by communicating with each other.
