A couple of summers ago I saw a high speed car chase. I was with a friend at the time in Norfolk. When it went right through Main Street.
             While I was at my friend's house on a calm cool night I heard sirens. We did not think anything of it. But the sirens kept going by. The third time we decided to go out and see what was going on. To our surprise we saw a cop car in pursuit of another car.
             We walked out to the sidewalk. Many people were already outside. It seemed like Norfolk's largest event in a long time. The two cars seemed to have disappeared. We were disappointed that we did not get to see more action.
             About five minutes later we heard the sirens again. This time there were two cop cars in pursuit. It looked like a scene straight out of a movie.
             As the cars jetted past us, you could see the driver's accomplice. He kept looking back at the cop cars. He probably was telling the driver where they were and what the cops looked like they were going to try and do.
             The cars went fast enough to jump the road. When they landed they would make huge clouds of sparks. They hit that same spot at least three times.
             People were stopping traffic while the chase went through town. If they did not do this there definitely would have been an accident.
             The cops would try to make there move by pinning the other vehicle in between them. It was supposed to act as a barrier to slow the car, in pursuit, down. It had little effect. As the car came back for another joy ride through town the cops had another idea. They decided to ram the car. They did it once and the other vehicle went off the road a little but stayed in control once again. After that they never came back through. The joy riders were eventually caught.
             I would not have liked to be in the people who were getting chased position. After seeing the high speed chase and seeing the danger that could have happen
