For example in the scene where a man is punching a bag, its starts of at eye level then follows a figure which goes across the shot to the stairway. Then it shifts to a high angle shot of Hammer walking up the stairs. The stairs are a conventional motif in noirs, borrowed from German Expressionism, predicting that something is about to happen. The angle is disorientating which indicates that even in the broad daylight with many other people around, there is a sense of threat and danger.
