It's one of the hardest facts in life, dealing with the reality that you can't be someone else. Millions of people each day, dream about being someone different. You have to face the fact and really figure out who you are. Once you find out who you are, you're a huge step ahead of many people.
In finding your individuality you need to ask, who am I? What are my values, and do I respect myself? In deciding who you are you need to explore your interests including your likes and dislikes.
Part of who you are, are your values. To truly be honest, to know what is right from wrong, and just being true to yourself. I grew up in my family with very strict rules. My father, being a sergeant for the city of Cincinnati and my mother, being a school teacher. We have many arguments about what is right and wrong. It took me a lot of soul searching to find out the person that I wanted to be.
To be a strong individual you need to respect yourself and others. To respect yourself is to be true to yourself. To respect others is to except their differences and not trying to act like someone else. I found out the hard way that being like someone is not cool. Five girls and I thought it was the popular thing to all act alike. Deep down everyone likes people with a mind of their own.
It would be a boring world if we were all the same because verity is the spice of life. Find out who you are within and be an individual.
