             The mother figure is remembered in each version of Cinderella differently. In the Grimm brother's version a tree grows on her mother's grave and helps Aschenputtel to get revenge and experience triumph. In the Chinese version Yeh-hsien takes comfort in a magic fish who helps her to become 'chief wife'. In a Scottish version the mother returns as a red calf supplying the Cinderella character with food, and fine clothing. In the Walt Disney version the mother is forgotten about after she dies and is not mentioned again (Warner p. 202-210). The Walt Disney version shows that the movie doesn't have a plot as deep as the
