In fact, not a single study has found that the children of lesbian or gay parents result at a disadvantaged level because of their parents' sexual orientation (Drucker 34). The research findings also showed no evidence to suggest that lesbians and gay men are unfit to be parents. In addition, the home environments with lesbians and gay parents were found to be as likely to successfully support a child's development as those with heterosexual parents. Amongst the findings were that good parenting is not influenced by sexual orientation, rather it is influenced more profoundly by a parent's ability to create a loving and nurturing home---an ability that does not exclusively depend on whether a parent is gay or straight. There is no evidence that suggest that the children of lesbians and gay parents are less intelligent, suffer from more problems, are less popular, or have lower self-esteem than children of heterosexual parents. In contrast, the children of lesbians and gay parents grow up as happy, healthy and well adjusted as the children of heterosexual parents.
             The crisis that society has faced against lesbians, gay men and adoption is the sole inability to distinguish myth versus fact. There are countless myths that if comprehended by society, would benefit the various children lost in the foster care system. Children who are the fallen victims of what our society has come to know and label as the "foster care shuffle", in which innocent children are moved from temporary home to temporary home, without a any real sense of somewhere to call home. The question remains can mainstream society distinguish myth versus fact?
