             The Nautilus has made many hostile actions toward other sea vessels. In an attempt to sink the Nautilus off the coast of Japan M. Aronnax, Consiel, and Ned Land were thrown into the sea and taken prisoners of the Nautilus.
             After acquainting the three new passengers with himself and the Nautilus Captain Nemo began an underwater tour of the world, starting with a hunting expedition in the underwater forests of the Crespo Islands in the Mid-Pacific. From there they passed through the Torres Strait between Australia and New Guinea were they encountered some cannibalistic savages. After crossing, they visited an underwater coral graveyard reserved for the crew of the Nautilus. They then headed northwest to the pearl fisheries of Ceylon just south of India.
             They used the Gulf of Aden to Reach the Red Sea. Then, they entered the Mediterranean Sea by means of an underwater tunnel running beneath Suez called the Arabian Tunnel discovered by Captain Nemo. They stopped to refill their coal in an underwater coalmine inside the crater of an instinct volcano on Santorin Island south of Greece. They entered the Atlantic Ocean through the Strait of Gibraltar. In Vigo Bay on the northern coast of Spain, they collected Incan's gold from sunken Spanish ships.
             They then took the Nautilus to Atlantis, the vast ancient continent that sunk into the Atlantic Ocean because of its volcanic activity and has now become a mere legend to society.
