             During the Tet Offensive the Americans back home thought all of this a shock and were extremely surprised. The large-scale offensive resulted in drastic human losses of the Communist forces. However, the offensive caused an extreme negative effect in the American public opinion and boosted the more bitter protests against the war. American audiences watched calmly the television coverage of the urban warfare, which wasn't seen since World War Two and it showed that all of the fighting going on in Vietnam was getting out of control and needed to be handled before the earth became its battle ground. Now at this time the people from South Vietnam reacted to the offensive by gathering their forces and striking back. It was said that there were many mass graves where they found unarmed soldiers, civilians who were shot, stabbed, and even buried alive.
