I stand up here tonight to address the graduating class of 2002. Throughout the years we have spent here at St. Catherine's of Bologna we have been given the opportunity to learned that an education is more than just academic's, it is the stepping stones of life.
             When we first began school here we were merely acquaintances, but now after nine years of new arrivals and sad departures, we have become more than just friends, we became a family. Without each other we would not be who we are today or on the road to where we'll be going tomorrow.
             St. Catherine's has helped develop us both academically and spiritually. The faculty here have become more than just teachers, they became role models. They have taught us many traits, such as compassion. Compassion is a powerful quality with the ability to transform people. Genuine, sincere kindness- lifts broken spirits, enables valuable works of service to be accomplished, and brings happiness if we utilize it. More profoundly, caring about others makes us human.
             I feel as if we have been gifted to have the ability to be surrounded by a spiritual atmosphere. The opportunity to attend a catholic school has enlightened and enriched us, in many ways. It has given us the chance to connect to a closer relationship with God and our fellow classmates.
             Graduating is only the beginning of our journey, as we leave here tonight we will be going our separate ways, starting on the path to our future. In our hearts we will always carry each other with us and the memories we have made. St. Catherine's has brought us this far on our journey and now it is time for us to take one more step to our future.
             The most important thing I have learned is: life is just one experience after another. If you learn from those experiences, then you have wasted no time or energy.
