Anti-Abortion

             "No abortion is ever completely safe", says the National Right to Life Committee. Many people are not aware of the serious dangers associated with abortion. Women may suffer many physical effects from having an abortion. In many cases, a woman may also have severe emotional and psychological problems following an abortion. Abortion is also immoral and unethical, to add to all the problems women may face after the procedure.
             To begin with, abortion can lead to many physical problems. In many cases, women who have abortions develop very serious physical problems. "Even under the best medical conditions, an experienced abortionist performing an abortion may puncture a uterus, a bowel, or a bladder", according to the National Right to Life Committee. Instances such as these can lead to complications such as hemorrhage, infections, and possibly death (National Right to Life Committee). In some circumstances, sterility can also be a concern. Sterility can be caused by tiny bone fragments left inside a woman's uterus after an abortion (National Right to Life Committee). At the University of Ottawa, Kimberly Elford and Paul Claman of the Division of Reproductive Medicine did a case report and found that, "small pieces of bone from babies killed in their mother's womb can become embedded in the uterus, leading to irritation and the inability of future embryos to implant and grow." As one can see, the physical effects of having an abortion much outweigh the effects of a woman carrying a baby full term and delivering.
             Secondly, women may also begin to have emotional and psychological effects after having an abortion. Severe and long term effects on the mental and emotional well-being of a woman can be caused by abortion (Angelo). Sadness and guilt are often experienced after abortions.
