Transition from High School to College

             Although many would say that the transition from high school to college is a difficult one, I would whole-heartedly disagree. I had been told many a time that college would kill me and that is would be much harder that I could ever imagine. All my previous teachers would advise me to avoid cramming because it would be in vain and there was no way I would retain any knowledge. Thus far, I have found everything about college to be to the contrary. It has been far easier and more interesting than I had imagined. Because I have had a relatively easy college experience, it is difficult for me to think of more than a few things that have been challenging in my transition from high school to college.
             First off, the most difficult thing I have had to face in my transition is the living situation. Although living in a dorm is fun and I feel it is an integral part to attaining the complete "college experience", it can be quite taxing. One of the most stressful transitions to make is to go from living with your family to living with another person. My living situation has turned out quite well, but it has hit several bumps in the road along the way. In the beginning, my roommate and I got along fine but it only took several weeks for the relationship to turn sour (due to various actions on her part that I do not care to discuss). To make a long story short, she moved out shortly after that. Now, I have I've had a new roommate for more than a month who I absolutely love. We get along great and live together pretty comfortably.
             In addition to the issues I had with my past roommate, living in a dorm itself has been relatively difficult. When I have a test to study for, it is hard to find somewhere to study without the threat of an onslaught of distractions.
