hildren and cousins of those who immigrated into Australia are now fully integrated into our school system, and have become some of the highest achievers in the country. The immigration does not only go one way, but many Australians have begun to make their homes in the Asia Region. This exchange of people has not only boosted the cultural exchange, but has added to the business occurring between the two countries. Business which includes export, import and our past exchanges.
A major part of what Asia has to do with Australia is that Asia is one of our principal markets. We exchange products to the mutual benefit of both regions including fresh foods, music, manufactured products and natural resources. These things which we already exchange with Asia further strengthens the links between us. As Australia matures past its first century of federation we have moved away from traditional markets. We now incorporate Asia as a major market. Eastern Asia currently receives 2/3 of all our exports, making them our major customer contributing largely to our economy. The rise in exports with Asia continues to rise with 7 of our top 10 trading partners begin Asian countries, and a further two Asian counties soon to be joining the top 10.
