A bride at fifteen and a queen at nineteen, Marie Antoinette, like all teenage girls of her generation, was fascinated with things not in relation to holding a political position of a country. She was interested in flowers and sentimental literature. However, these things should have been hidden behind the mask of a strong queen.
             Marie Antoinette made no fulfillment to her public role. She would openly share her opinion of the Sunday royal court rituals, which was not respectful. In matters of clothing, she started to rebel against wearing corsets. However, what seemed spontaneous to her appeared as shockingly immoral to many of her subjects. Even in the formal court, she would disregard strict dress codes, wearing loose and simple gowns of cotton. Most important, is the directness in which Marie Antoinette represented her own femininity. Things that had been permissible, even expected, in a member of the monarchy, were somehow not acceptable qualities in a queen.
