There are three main reasons I think friends may turn bad on you. First of all everyone matures at different rates therefore making some people think different than others. Another thing that might bring about change could be different hobbies or interests. Guys like to do guy things and girls like to do girl things. The last and probably most influential reason for bad changes is parental control.
Back in junior high my friend and I started off doing a lot of stuff together. My friend is deaf and everyone leaves him out of whatever is going on. I used to go to his house and spend the night and we would play Nintendo or just watch movies. I guess as time throughout the years went on, our time we spent together depleted. We started to meet more people and had less time for each other.
Some of my former friends have a total different outlook on life than what I have. They think that getting drunk and high is all there is to do anymore. I decided to let them go their own way. Now I just go and hang out with my "good" friends and we can do without the drugs or alcohol. There is plenty of stuff to do to have fun besides having illegal fun. I think some people need to grow up and think about the consequences that are yet to come.
I have other friends that are seniors in high school and could go out and of more when they were in junior high than they can go do now. There parents always say they have to go somewhere or they have to do something around the house. As always if you get told "no" enough times you quit asking and your friends will eventually just quit asking you to do stuff. Parents need to realize that today's times are different than their younger days.
