 Egypt had no word for relgion because it was infused in their society.
              The created god in Egypt in the old kingdom is called PTAH
              Ptah created the universe conceived in his mind, and simply spoke the world and the universe appeared.
              Ptah was embodied in everything in the universe
              They thought that Egypt belonged in the universe cosmic
              Because Pharaoh was devined and was responsible for maintaining stability within the universe
              Egyptians were polytheistic
              They were gods in Ancient Egypt that were responsible for natural forces in nature and the heavenly bodies.
              They had sun gods & land gods
              The sun god was a source of life and was there for worthy of worship
              The Egyptians even developed a sun cult at Heliopolis.
              Heliopolis= was a city north of Lower Egypt
              The sun god had different forms and names based on it's function
              When the sun god was in human form was worshipped as ATUM. (human form)
              Khepra= when sun god was in form of a scaraab or beetle.
              Because the Egyptian believed that the sun like the scaraab beetle came forward out of it's own source.
              Re= another name of sun god when he had a human body and a falcon head.
              When he was known as Re he was identified as Horus
              In the new kingdom Re became associated with Amon.
              Amon was an air god of the city of Thebes.
              When associated with Amon he was known as Amon-Re
              The pharaoh took the title as sun of Re since he was regarded as the "Earthy Embodiement of Re"
              The river & land god included 2: Osiris & Isis
              Osiris & Isis had a child named Horus-- was related to Nile and Land
