Society is very gendered from the clothes people choose to wear right down to the toys
children choose to play with. Even the simplest objects such as toys has a significant impact on
children and the way they behave. Most children do not understand the meaning of kindness,
they judge other kids by the way they look. These roles are very well conditioned that if other
children should step out of the roles they can be easily criticized. People should be more aware
of gender stereotypes and of what toys parents should generally buy their kids.
The different toys and play activities that parents encourage for both boys and girls does
not only influence the children's intellection of things and of what activities can be appropriate or
inappropriate for males and females but also of what social skills and problem solving that these
children may develop as they grow older. Certain toys for boys and girls shows of what kind of
people we grow up to be. When looking around a toy store you notice that the girls' section is
separated by the boys'. Girls' side has more light colors into it such as pink, light blue, white,
baby blue etc..and as for the boys'; it shows a lot of dark colors that includes dark blue, black,
red, green and so forth. Also in the section for girls' toys includes things such as dolls,
accessories, arts and craft kits, beauty sets, housekeeping and cooking sets. Boys' sections has
building sets, sports related toys and tools.
