Exemplication Companies making useless things valuable

Some things are not what they seem. Companies have a great gift making products much more desirable than they really are. Today our society is brainwashed by how companies advertise their products. They have us believe that their product is needed to be accepted into society. As we sit on our couches watching the television, notice the advertisements that are shown.
During the morning shows when the soap operas are on, I've noticed that there were many house appliance commercials on. The majority of people who watched those shows are women who are home and have time to watch them. For instance, Mr. Clean makes cleaning much easier than it really is. He leaves this "brilliant" shine after the floors, countertops, and cabinets were washed. Obviously this was just a gimmick to catch the consumer's attention.
Later in the afternoon, about the time when kids got out of school, cartoons came on instead of soap operas. As the shows changed, so did the commercials, from house cleaners to action figures, attracting kids after they come home from a "hard days work". One of the commercials really caught my attention. I laughed when I saw action figures being held by kids, pretending to fly and fight each other and how I remembered that I was brought by those commercials. They had the music and the narrator yelling out how cool it was to own one.
To conclude my thought about how infomercials make things as drastic as they can. They catch the right crowd at the right time and make something that could be useful to something they "must have." I admit that I am also a "must have" person where commercials have made me want something so much that it was a necessity to me.
