trumpet. You completely loose your train of thought and spend the next hour trying to regain your thoughts and finish the paper. Here's another example, you spent the whole night last night trying to finish a paper that was due that morning (it could happen), you get back from the class and have a few hours before your next class. You decide that it would be a great idea to take a nap before your next class so you get ready to take a nap; you set the alarm, close the blinds, get undressed, and get into bed. Just as the sand man is visiting you, you hear a French horn down the hall. You can't get to sleep and your entire day goes down the drain from there.
             So that is one of the major disadvantages to living in a music dorm, but one thing that I enjoy very much about living in a dorm is the fact that it is very easy to socialize with other people. Living in a dorm where everyone is interested in the same things you are (music) makes it especially easy to get along with others and make new friends extremely fast. Having things in common with others takes away that first initial awkwardness when meeting new people. To give you an example of this, when I first moved in I didn't know anyone. Within the first week however I had a circle of friends that consisted of 6 people; by the end of that month it had grown to about 10 close friends with another 10-15 acquaintances. I am a firm believer that the only reason I meet so many people so quickly is because we all had music in common with each other. It gave us common ground to talk about and then begin to branch off into other subjects.
             Now, having tons of friends of friends is great and everything, but it does have its downfalls to it also. First of all, it is much harder to get thins done when they are supposed to be done be done by.
