The kid and a horse fell into the water. The little blind child swung his arms around trying to save his life. The horse really had no chance trying to get out of the water and ended up floating down the river. The father stood there and watched as his son was going down the river. After a few moments, the father sprinted to catch up with his son. When he got as close as he could to where his son was he jumped into the river to save him. This was a scene from the movie "The Color of Paradise". The movie was in Farsi with English subtitles. The movie showed how different the rest of the world is compared to the United States of America. The movie has a strong impact on its audience with its open, twisted ending.
             The movie is about a blind child named Mohammad and how he views the world. The movie starts at a school for the blind in a city. A school break was coming up and the children had a chance to come home, so parents came and picked up their kids. Mohammad's father doesn't come right away. Hours after all the kids left, the boy's father shows up and pleads with the teacher to take him home with him. As the movie goes on, you can see how the father feels that the child is a burden to him. Also you get to see how the rest of the boy's family sees him. Mohammad's mother had been dead, but his father's mother took care of him.
             Mohammad's views on nature were one of his unique talents. He took in nature by the only ways he could, touch and hear. The movie tries to point out all the good aspects of the boy and all the bad points of the father. I believe his father learned a lot at the end, but you will have to make that judgment for yourself.
