As a result of the bombing, six people died and 1,042 people were injured (Arnold and Kennedy 39). The bomb was delivered to the WTC in a van, which was parked underneath the building in the parking garage. The explosion was caused by a nitro urea bomb, in excess of 1,000 pounds, with hydrogen cylinders to add impact. The explosion caused $600 million worth of damage to the building (Sobel 95). In 1994 ten individuals opposed to U.S. support for Israel were convicted of conspiracy in connection with the bombing and were sentenced to long prison terms (Patterns of Global Terrorism 7). Terrorism can be so destructive when terrorists use bombs and it causes a major disruption in our every day lives.
