Euthanasia

             I have decided to do my research paper on the subject of euthanasia. Some people recognize euthanasia as physician assisted suicide. In order for me to write my research paper, I had to do a little digging to find the facts. I researched and came up with ten different sources full of information on my topic. The first piece of information I found was in the book called To Die Or Not To Die.
             To Die Or Not To Die, was edited by Arthur S. Berger and Joyce Berger. In this book, I found lots of information on cross-disciplinary views, cross-cultural views, and cross-legal views. In the cross-disciplinary views, the book talked about the perspectives of the patient, the perspectives from the Catholic and Jewish traditions, and ethical perspectives. A book with similar information was Suicide: Opposing Viewpoints. Another book that I found with interesting facts about my topic was Death By Decision, written by Jerry B. Wilson.
             The book basically discussed the medical, moral, and legal dilemmas of euthanasia. I thought this book would be a big help in writing my research paper because it had the history of euthanasia, and it also included many pros and cons on the subject. Another book that was very interesting to me was The Case For Physician Assisted Suicide by Sheila McLean and Alison Britton.
             In this book, I was able to find out and understand why a person would want to be involved with physician assisted suicide, and what type of standards would push a person into that situation. This book also explained to me the meaning, and reasoning behind having a doctor assist in a suicide instead of a family member. I also read a book called Death and Decision by Ernan Mc Mullin. In this book, it also talked about the importance of having an assisted suicide done by a doctor.
