Abortion

             As the popular saying goes, "It takes two to tango," and it is a universal truth that it takes two people, specifically, a man and a woman, to create a life. So it follows, that a decision as important as whether or not to abort this life, should be made jointly by both the man and the woman. This scenario, however, is not always the case. In fact, the vast majority of abortions are performed on the woman's decision alone. I propose that there should be equal input on the part of both the man and the woman in making a decision as important as an abortion of an unborn child.
             In 1973 the United States Supreme Court case Roe vs. Wade legalized abortion. Since then over 40 million abortions have been performed in the United States (abortiontv). Abortion is legal in the USA at any time throughout the entire nine months of pregnancy for any reason. That is equal to approximately one-third of the population born after 1973 (abortiontv).
             The actual process of aborting babies is unbearably barbaric. Abortionists use many methods such as salt poisoning, hysterectomy, partial birth, and dilatation and evacuation (D & E) to name a few. Salt poisoning most often used after the first trimester ( first three months). The abortionist injects a strong salt solution directly into the amniotic sac (fluid surrounding the baby). The baby breathes and swallows it, is poisoned, struggles, and sometimes convulses. It takes over an hour to kill the baby. The mother delivers the dead baby in a day or two (sometimes alive!) (abortiontv). A hysterectomy is usually used late in pregnancy and is like an "early" Caesarian section. In my opinion D & E is absolutely disgusting. It is performed during the second trimester (4-6 months) of pregnancy. A pliers-like instrument is needed because the baby's bones are calcified, as is the skull.
